Digitalgerry Services Ltd (UK) is a specialist healthcare consultancy focussing on clinical safety in the general healthcare environment and specializing in Clinical IT and AI. The director, Gerry Bolger, has over 30+ years of experience in healthcare systems at all levels in the NHS in England, specifically in clinical safety and service redesign.

As healthcare IT progresses significantly, it needs careful assessment of the risks to the patient, end user and organization when deploying or using and upgrading clinical IT, including Software as a Service (SaaS) and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). While focussing on the clinical safety standards in England, the principles are transferrable across healthcare in general and beyond the UK.

Digitalgerry Services was part of the NHS England and Wales COVID-19 App team. Gerry was one of the legally required Clinical Safety Officers (CSO) to produce the Hazard log using BowtieXP, which helped articulate the Clinical Safety Case.

Digitalgerry Services offers successful and sustainable support & coaching in several areas, including:

• Hazard Identification (HAZID/ SWIFT/HAZOP)
• NHS IT Standard – DCB0129: Clinical Risk Management: its Application in the Manufacture of Health IT Systems – a requirement of all manufacturers of IT or software being deployed in NHS or Social Care
• NHS IT Standard – DCB0160: Clinical Risk Management: its Application in the Deployment and Use of Health IT Systems – makes it mandatory for all NHS Trusts or Social Care organizations deploying or using health IT systems in England to manage the associated clinical risks.

Partner certification

Our long-term partner has committed to participate in the Bowtie Suite partner certification process (launched 2020) and has already been successfully awarded the second badge in the BowTieXP series.
